Cala Lily
Oil 6x6
This one gave me a bit of trouble. I ended up wiping it completely and starting over. Lighter values give me more of a problem than the darker ones. In the end, I was pleased with the results. I especially like the glow in the throat of the lily. Cala lilies are so graceful--beautiful form. Thank you for checking in today! Have a great day!
It feels like it is a dance pose! Very graceful! Do you paint on black canvas?
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you through 30 in 30
I love the theme you have chosen. I know it's over half way now so I'm hoping I can keep it up. Your paintings are all beautifully done and look forward to seeing the rest. It's great to be doing this along with so many others!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! Loving your flower series, and enjoying the challenge! Best wishes Julie
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments! I am very appreciative of your time to comment and encouragement.
ReplyDeletePrerana--I don't paint on a black canvas. After I complete the painting, I apply the black background which is basically the 3 primaries. Sometimes, it's painstaking, but I'm lovin' it.
Good luck to all of you during this challenge. Thanks SO MUCH for commenting!
Lovely!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Srishti! I appreciate your comment.
ReplyDeleteThis one is beautiful too! I think flowers are your specialty. Love the vibrant colors and the fluidity of you line work. As Prerana said, "very graceful."

ReplyDeleteI can "ditto" all the above comments. I also love flowers and painting them. The zinnia amazes me. How in the world do you address all the petals? It overwhelms me.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed everyone in this challenge and have added several to follow including you. I graduated from Georgia State in '83 with my BVA and sort of know your neighborhood. Do you ever do dogwoods and/or azaleas?
Thank you Suzan! Glad to hear about your GA connection. I have not done a dogwood and not a close up azaleas. They're on my "to do" list. I did each petal individually on the zinnia. It really was not as overwhelming as I had thought. I actually enjoyed doing it. I did have a detailed drawing.
