Apples have always been a favorite subject for artists to paint. The colors and shapes are always interesting and different. The next time I set up an apple still life, I will attempt to paint it in a looser style--still realistic but not painted as "tightly" as this one. Experimentation keeps the painting process fresh and exciting.

Apples are fun and you do the tops better than I do. I'm sticking with working tight for awhile until I can paint them in my sleep.
