Evening on the Lake
5x7 Oil on Panel
A palette knife painting using blues to depict the late evening light on the lake just before darkness sets in. I used a mixture of Alizarin and Ultramarine Blue for the dark trees and reflections in the water. I seem to prefer smaller formats such as 5x7, 6x6 and 8x8. It's fun to experiment with different themes and methods and not invest in a larger painting. I do sometimes venture into the larger paintings and will post some in the future.
